Shameless

When did "shameless" become an insult?
At what point in our collective history did shame become a prospective virtue?
A quality to cultivate.

Shame is toxic.
It poisons creativity, stifles joy, and blocks personal evolution.
Shame breeds violence, and virulent aggression which knows no limits, conscience, or satiety.
Shame, when unaddressed, allows for manipulation, and compulsion which is entirely unconscious. Shame produces addiction.

When we hold unchecked shame within, it can manifest outwardly in myriad highly destructive ways. We might seek to self-destructively harm ourselves, to shame or manipulate others, or even to violently attack those we see as reflections of our inner turmoil.
Yet, many turns of phrase and social agreements reflect shame as a positive, constructive character trait.
"Have you no shame?" No. No, I do not.
I carry no shame in this life.
I chose long ago to systematically remove all shame from my heart and mind because I know without doubt or hesitation that it does not serve me.

I am shameless, and I'll say it loud and proud.

Will you say it with me, Beloved?
