Entitled

When did exhaustion become the new norm?

At what point in our collective history, did constantly running on fumes enter into the realm of "just the way it is?" Where did we lose sight of self-care?
Of rest?
Of real relaxation?
Of true integration?

How did we forget that in order to live inspired, successful lives, we must first nurture our own selves?

In the commonly accepted paradigm of our most recent past, those of us who take time to breathe, to nurture ourselves, to fill our cups.
Those of us who make self-care a priority.
Are often labeled as hipsters, weirdos, or entitled. "How dare they prioritize their own well-being?"
The audacity.
Maybe I'm way off base here.
Maybe I'm confused.
In my worldview.
Sacrificing one's physical health, for material wealth, equates to madness.
Giving up one's peace of mind in the present, in order to worry about the future, seems like pure folly.
Ignoring one's self-care, in order to build a life which doesn't ignite one's passion as much as a vacation, seems utterly fruitless.
Who knows? I might be wrong.
I might be a few cards short.

To me.
Vulnerability is the new strength.
Peace is the new power.
Authenticity is the new currency. ...and life, this beautiful gift of life, is for LIVING. Not waiting on the sidelines, settling for exhaustion and depletion, when inexhaustible PASSION is not only totally possible, it's no more than a breath away.
